Few tips for keeping holidays work-free:
1. Manage your workload prior to vacation time and predict what work needs to be done during your absence
2. Tell your manager about your upcoming vacation time and make a plan of action while you are away
3. Help other co-workers with an excess workload during their time off and ask for the same in return

Target the employers in which you are most interested.
Apply whether a job is open or not.
Make phone calls and visit them-make human contact.
